1. Stand on Kilometer 0 at the Praça do Marco Zero

Recife’s beginnings started here! The World Trade Center! Its formal name is “Praça Baro do Rio Branco,” but it is more often known as “Praça do Marco Zero“. The Francisco Brennand Workshop/Museum (FB) is located approximately 40 minutes by vehicle west of Recife, in a natural woody tropical region. You get there from the main highway by a meandering, unpaved route. A slow journey allows guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and view multi-colored birds fluttering around. With the occasional spider slithering around the side of the road. The FB workshop and ceramics business emerged in 1971 from the rubble of FB’s father’s old brick mill.

Today, visitors may see around 3200 works of art, including sculptures, pottery, vases, mosaics of various sizes.
