One of the oldest and most beautiful temples in the city is Vat Xiengthong. King SetthathiRath, Lao’s first king  built it in 1560. However the biggest temple is one of the most recent. King Visounnarath built Wat Visounnarath. Shaped like a water melon, this stupa draws in the believers and tourists alike.
